Digital Photography – Search by color

We tend to look for subjects and scenes when taking pictures and we are looking for bright, colourful objects. This is a dynamic that is missing from most of our images. We tend to record memories, events and issues that are interesting. Very rarely, we look specifically for bright colorful objects or substances.


The problem with digital photography, is that we delay to register events and memories; We shoot not to record the emotions and feelings.

Start thinking color before you take a photo. What this will do, is get you to consider the parts of your photos. Not only should you consider your subject placement, background and formulation, but also the colors contained in the scene.

Our biggest problem is that we are so used to our colourful environments, that we will no longer be able to appreciate them is the colorful items that are not the norm, which tend to attract our attention.Gray commuter bus does not attract as much attention as shiny red fire engine parked outside the fire station; the rich orange and gold sunset immediately attracts our attention because it is not the norm.
So how do we capture color?We capture it by focusing on the colors we want to remember.
Here are some tips:

1. Fill the image with the color you have chosen to shoot.
Exclude most of the other colors, if not all of them, When you shoot red, do you want to see red in the resulting image, not half red and half yellow.

2. Look at the edges of the picture box.
Think of the colors that encroaches on the picture with digital photography is easy when you are reviewing the images on the site; If you want to zoom in, more stringent, then do it; the final image must reflect the color you were try to take.A dominant color tends to reflect to the rest of the stage.Be aware of how colors interact with each other.

3. Look for colors that complement each other.

4. look for colors, which capture the feelings of a scene or memory.

This is more difficult; When you see in the picture in the future, it will remind you of the emotions of the moment.

5. Contrast color with black or white.
This causes the color to be lifted by the master and stands out; this is reflected, with white especially Families in colourful clothes., on a plain white background.
